Curriculum Vitae

Simon Taylor is professor of English law at Paris Nanterre University. His research focuses principally on comparative English and French tort law, with particular interest in medical liability, product liability and environmental liability. He has published widely in the field and is notably the author of L'harmonisation communautaire de la responsabilité du fait des produits défectueux: étude comparative du droit anglais et du droit français, LGDJ 1999 and Medical accident liability and redress in English and French law, Cambridge University Press 2015. The latter was re-edited in a Chinese edition by Cambridge University Press and China University of Political Science and Law Press in 2020.

He is also interested in comparative contract law and law and language.

He is a member of the European research group on tort and insurance law (GRERCA) and associate member of the Centre for research in private law, Panthéon-Sorbonne University. He is also visiting professor at the University of Bergamo, Italy, and the University of Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium.
