Dr. Antoine Harfouche est Maître de conférences en Systèmes d’Information (SI) et en Intelligence Artificielle (IA) à l’Université Paris Nanterre, où il enseigne en Licence et en Master divers domaines, notamment les systèmes d’information, l’intelligence artificielle, le Big Data et les méthodes quantitatives. Antoine a largement contribué à la communauté AIS grâce à la qualité de son enseignement, l’excellence de ses travaux de recherche et son engagement remarquable au service de la communauté. En 2020, il a reçu le AIS Sandra Slaughter Outstanding Service Award. Il a obtenu un Master et un Doctorat en Systèmes d’Information à l’Université Paris-Dauphine (France), son doctorat ayant été réalisé en collaboration avec Georgia State University. Les recherches du Dr Harfouche portent principalement sur l’impact des systèmes d’information et de l’IA sur les individus, les organisations et les sociétés dans leur ensemble. Spécialiste de l’IA éthique et responsable, ainsi que de l’intelligence augmentée, il est le co-développeur des concepts de "Human-Centric" et "Informed Artificial Intelligence" (HIAI) et de la théorie de l’Augmentation de la Connaissance. Ses publications ont paru dans des revues à comité de lecture telles que Information Systems Frontiers, International Journal of Information Management, International Journal of Production Research, Business Strategy and the Environment, Industrial Management & Data Systems, Annals of Operations Research, Trends in Plant Science, Trends in Biotechnology, Information Technology & People, Communication of the AIS, Pacific Asia Journal of the AIS, Journal of Global Information Management, Journal of Organizational and End User Computing, Recherche et Applications en Marketing, ainsi que dans les Lecture Notes in Information Systems and Organization. Ses travaux ont également été présentés dans des conférences internationales prestigieuses telles que ICIS, PACIS, AMCIS, ICTO, MCIS, MENACIS, AIM et LCIS. Dr Harfouche est aussi Senior Editor des revues Information Technology & People et Journal of Decision Systems. Il est également Guest Editor pour Information Systems Frontiers, Communications of the AIS et Asia Business Studies. Il siège par ailleurs au Editorial Advisory Board du Journal of Enterprise Information Management et au International Editorial Review Board de l’International Journal of Information Management. Au cours de sa carrière, le Dr Harfouche a obtenu plus de 2 millions de dollars de financements provenant notamment de l’Agence Nationale de la Recherche (ANR) en France et du programme européen ERASMUS+. Dans le cadre du projet ANR SCHOPPER (ANR-DS0701/2016), il a codéveloppé un nouveau cadre conceptuel d’IA, nommé human-in-the-loop Informed AI, intégrant l’expertise humaine comme composante indissociable des applications d’intelligence artificielle. Dans le projet ERASMUS+ VRAILEXIA, il a co-conçu un partenariat stratégique intitulé « Partnership outside of the box: integrating artificial intelligence tools with virtual reality to support higher education students with dyslexia ». Ce projet innovant a obtenu un score de 98/100 de la part de l’agence ERASMUS+, se classant premier en 2020. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dr. Antoine Harfouche is an Associate Professor of Information Systems (IS) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) at University Paris Nanterre where he teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in various areas, including IS, AI, Big Data, and Quantitative Methods. Dr. Harfouche has contributed to the IS & AI community through his excellent teaching, cutting-edge research, and outstanding service. He was awarded the AIS Sandra Slaughter Outstanding Service Award in 2020. Dr. Harfouche completed his M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Management Information Systems at Paris Dauphine University FR) / PhD done in collaboration with Georgia State University. Dr. Harfouche’s research primarily examines how IS and AI impact individuals, organizations, countries, and societies in general. He is an expert and a researcher in Ethical and Responsible AI and in Augmented Intelligence. He codeveloped the concept of Human-Centric Interpretable Informed Artificial Intelligence (HIAI) and the theory of Knowledge Augmentation. His publications appeared in peer-reviewed journals (e.g., Information Systems Frontiers, International Journal of Information Management, International Journal of Production Research, Business Strategy and the Environment, Industrial Management & Data Systems, the Annals of Operation Research, Trends in Plant Science, Trends in Biotechnology, Information Technology and People, Journal of Global Information Management, Journal of Organizational and End User Computing, Informatics, Recherche et Applications en Marketing, Lecture Notes in Information Systems and Organization) and renowned conference proceedings (e.g., ICIS, PACIS, AMCIS, ICTO, MCIS, MENACIS, AIM, LCIS). Antoine is Senior Editor of the Journal Information Technology and People and the Journal of Decision Systems. He is also Guest Editor at the Information Systems Frontiers, Communication of the AIS, and the journal of Asia Business Studies. He is and also a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of the Journal of Enterprise Information Management, member of the International Editorial Review Board of the International Journal of Information Management. Throughout his career, Dr. Harfouche has obtained a considerable amount of funding - above 2 million dollars - from the French Research Council (ANR) and the European ERANSMUS+. In the ANR SCHOPPER project (ANR-DS0701/2016), he codesigned a new AI framework called human-in-the-loop Informed AI, in which human input is considered as an inextricable part of AI applications. In the ERASMUS+ project VRAILEXIA, Dr. Harfouche has co-designed a strategic partnership project called “Partnership outside of the box: integrating artificial intelligence tools with Virtual reality to support higher education students with dyslexia.” This innovative project was given a score of 98 out of 100 by the ERASMUS+ agency, thus achieved first place in 2020.
